Check out this "Moscow-style" wheat bread I picked up at the International Food Bazaar in Cordova.

Yes, it is so wheat bread.
I know this because the bag says so.

The market offers various food items ... exotic sodas and snacks, breads, and there's a small deli.
When I was paying for the bread, I mentioned to the guy behind the counter that my friend from Germany was looking for "gray" bread to feed her father during his visit.
The man show me some Ukrainian rye bread and said it was close. He mentioned the bread was his favorite.

He was explaining about white bread and black bread, etc. I said, what about the gray bread? He waved me away and said, "White, black, grey ... there are a lot of different types of bread in Europe!"
So with that, I changed the subject to the tray of treats behind him. I asked what they were. He told me to try it.

It was a chocolate and marshmellow-like sweet. I can't remember the name.
I asked him how much for the treat. He waved me away again and said, "Happy New Year."
