A little more than a month ago, Cosmic Coconut took on a new group of owners and with it newly expanded hours and a considerably larger menu. Drink sizes have also increased, while the drinks' price points have been reduced.
The new partners are Taylor Berger of Yolo, Arielle Moinester, Scott Tashie, and Stephen Stamps.
The hours are now 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
While the all-organic/all-vegan East Memphis spot primarily offered juices, smoothies, and snacks, there are now grab-and-go items, a kids' menu that includes vegan grilled cheese, breakfast dishes, daily lunch specials that include a raw dish, and new smoothies and juices. They are also thinking of adding cleanses that can be pre-ordered and picked up in the morning.
The menu, created by Marcia Joseph and Will Byrd, is still in a try-out phase, but has a rough outline that includes a theme for each day: Mexican Monday, Tempeh Tuesday, Wild Wednesday, Thai Thursday, Burgers and Fries Friday, Succotash Saturday, and Soup Sunday.
Joseph calls it an "all-new experience."
The menu will not be available online until it's firmed up, but daily specials are being posted on Cosmic Coconut's Facebook page.
