“End the Fed” Rally to be held Saturday
“End the Fed” is a nationwide campaign to abolish the Federal Reserve Bank and the Federal Reserve Act in hopes of creating a more stable U.S. monetary system. A rally will be held Saturday, November 22nd, at noon, at Federal Reserve banks in 39 cities across the U.S., including Memphis. The Memphis bank is located at 200 North Main downtown.

Young Leaders Encourage Engagement
After bringing Newark, New Jersey, mayor Cory Booker to Memphis to speak, the Leadership Academy felt like it needed a special event to follow the energetic young mayor.
The result was one of the group’s Celebrate What’s Right luncheons, this one with a panel of “young politicos.”

Thanks to the organizing efforts of Brad Watkins (left), enough money was raised at a “Democratic Solidarity Event” Tuesday night both to compensate Shelby County Commissioner Steve Mulroy (right) for correcting an error in the party’s sample election ballot and to put some real money into an inner-city outreach project.
Conrad Takes the Oath as 13th Council Member
Businessman Kemp Conrad was sworn in as the newest member of the Memphis city council in a ceremony Monday in the Hall of Mayors. Conrad, winner of a special election earlier this month, replaces former councilman Scott McCormick, who left to become president of the Plough Foundation.
