Time Out New York recently interviewed Cybill Shepherd, and here we go again with tales of stomach-turning meals fit for the King. Not so documented: Elvis Presley’s gross-out reaction to some harmless male-on-male action, ’70s-style.
Time Out: “What did you do on those dates [with Elvis Presley]?”
Shepherd: “Ate chicken-fried steak, deep-fried peanut-butter-and-mayonnaise sandwiches. He had screenings every Wednesday night at this huge movie theater ย private screenings with 50 of his closest friends. One of the movies we saw was Sunday Bloody Sunday. They started running the picture, and there was a scene between two gay men. Elvis said, ยEw, gross. Turn off the movie!”
No word on what Presley would think of Shepherd’s new role as a married, middle-aged woman “living a lie” on Showtime’s lesbian drama The L Word.
