Whisper Creek Tennessee Sipping Cream

Posted By on Tue, Jan 15, 2013 at 2:39 PM

Here it is all wintry mixy and I'm without a single slice of bread and nary an egg or drop of milk. But I'll be all right. I've got Whisper Creek Tennessee Sipping Cream.

A sample arrived in a small wood crate with a prying tool.

Whisper Creek is a cream liqueur made by Nashville-based artisan distillery Speakeasy Spirits using Tennessee whiskey.

The crate came with "The Sipping Times," a faux newspaper with a front page story about federal agents finding a secret stash of Whisper Creek, along with other stories of speakeasy-era tales of flimflammers, etc.

Promotional gimmicks aside, I found it really tasty (though my pal Joe said the drink reminded him of the 1980s). The flavor profile was developed with help form a Nashville chef and includes hints of caramel, red apple, fig, and pecan.

Whisper Creek sells for $24.99, and you can find it at Buster's, Kirby Wine & Liquor, and other liquor stores. It's also served at Sweet Grass, Cafe 1912, Owen Brennan's, and other restaurants.
