Is the City Back in Black?

Posted on Wed, Feb 21, 2007 at 4:00 AM

Memphis Finance Director Roland McElrath gave members of the City Council good news Tuesday: 2007 revenues are expecting to exceed expenditures by over $23 million. That’s an almost $13 million improvement from the city’s last forecast, a change due to local taxes, state taxes, and transfers from MLGW outperforming early estimates.

Long story short? “From a revenue perspective,” said McElrath, “we’re having a very good year.”
