Posted By on Thu, Nov 18, 2010 at 9:57 AM

There will be a ribbon-cutting today for the grand opening of the American Cancer Society's Harrah's Hope Lodge at 718 Union avenue. The facility will provide free lodging for cancer patients in long-term treatment in Memphis.

Harrah's Hope Lodge has 40 guest rooms, as well as dining, kitchen, library, and recreational areas. On hand for the opening ceremonies will be a number of business, Cancer Society, and foundation leaders, as well as Mayors Wharton and Luttrell. The ribbon-cutting is at 2:30 p.m. and will be followed by guided tours of the facility. For more info, contact Patrick Collins at 219-9944.
