Re: “Ford's Future (Cont'd)

Jackson, The personal attacks never stop with you. In an effort to defend your untenable position about Harold Ford, you accuse Chuck Todd, your former editor according to you, of "lying" about talking to a White House source. Now, I don't know Chuck Todd, but I seriously doubt NBC News would entrust a "liar" with covering the White House. Further, I would be shocked if he lied about what he wrote. Do journalists often lie Jackson?

Re: “Ford's Future (Cont'd)

Jackson: Chuck Todd deals with facts; you often traffic rumors and innuendo because facts undermine your assumptions. Mr. Todd spoke to a White House source; you didn't. And, Mr. Todd, after learning from some close to Ford, made it known that Ford has no Merrill problem. Yet, you continue to peddle things that are false. For that reason, I suggested that hate may be a driving force for your articles about Ford. Finally, you have a history of spreading untruths and false assumptions about Ford. It is unfortunate and beneath a good journalist - not to mention making fun of my middle initial as you did and implying that it stands for anything other than what my parents named me.

Re: “Ford's Future (Cont'd)

Why does Jackson Baker Have So Much Hate for Harold Ford, Jr? This is the second time Jackson Baker has attacked Harold Ford with falsehoods and innuendo. For the life of me, I can't understand why Jackson has it in for Ford. Again, here are the facts Jackson. Ford teaches at Vanderbilt, chairs the DLC, serves as an analyst on NBC and MSNBC and a Vice Chair at Merrill Lynch/Bank of America, helping to generate business and maintain their client base. He didn't lobby and was paid on a salary. He has been outspoken on serious public policy issues over the past 2 years. As Jackson knows, Ford served Memphis in Congress for 10 years and gained the respect of his colleagues and others in Washington. The facts are important Jackson.

Re: “Is Harold Ford Jr. a Merrill Lynch Bonus Baby? My Response to Jackson Baker's Column Today, Jackson Baker once again went on the attack after Congressman Ford. The truth of the matter is that Ford received no bonus. It is amazing how Jackson Baker will write anything about Ford - mostly untrue. Ford has never represented Merrill - or anyone for that matter - in China. For the past 2 years, he has taught at Vanderbilt University and chaired the Democratic Leadership Council. In addition, he continues to help develop public policy on a national level. Baker never writes about those things. Only trying to suggest the negative. But let me be clear, Ford didn't get a bonus. Lets hope Baker does what is right and corrects the record and tells the people the truth.

Re: “Whopper Jr.: What Was Ford Thinking?

I am pretty sure everyone knows what Ford meant in this statement. The fact of the matter is, during the Senate primary, Rosalind Kurita, and for that matter a number of bloggers on the internet, said time and time again that she was the 'real Democrat' in the race. However, as well all know, her actions have hardly matched her rhetoric as she voted to give the Republicans control of the State Senate (committees and the Lt. Governorship) when she voted for Ron Ramsey. Worst of all, after the whole ordeal, she said her vote was based on her conscience. Confidentially enough, only a few weeks later, she was given a leadership position in the State Senate by Ramsey. Ford's statement was clear and right on point.
