Re: “Tough Week for Millionaire Preachers

Sounds like PR sour grapes. She was not able to control the content and thus is wondering if she will get another check. That is the bottom line. The entire PR game has gone too far in protecting the client at the cost of the spin.

Re: “Bad News

No big shock here. 90% of the news is wire service recanned as local stories. Essentially they have already outsourced all but the monitized content. We may be watching the first total implosion of a big daily in the US. Sad that it has to be our former local paper. They need to sell the CA to local people that have a passion for the area and run out the carpet baggers.

Re: “Church of God in Changeover

Once again The Flyer points out the real story behind the machine. I have real issues with the way they (COGIC) flaunt money and power at the expense of the very people that pay their way. The Commercial Appeal might as well take the word "Appeal" out of its name and just be Commercial. The "C" coverage has been a just another attempt at getting fingers into the pass around plate. $900,000 a year income and a home by Jed, Granny and Elly Mae is not necessary.

Re: “We're Number 1!!!! Memphis Named "America's Most Sedentary City"

Diet and exercise. Both are curse words in Memphis. First place I have ever encountered a fried twinkie! Parks - bike paths - are you kidding? We don't no stinkin bike paths! Now pass me a funnel cake and the remote.

Re: “Letter from the Editor

The CA needs a second set of prices on the front page that can go in a bar code scanner. Content - buy one - get one free this week only!

Re: “"Monetizing Content" at The Commercial Appeal

B - the answer is basic. Pepe is not a true Publisher. He has bounced from city to city as a "Publisher" bringing his failed plans along with him. If he had talent he would not have been shoved out of so many jobs. It is very rare to see a true Publisher change companies. Pepe does it every 4 years. One more to go for Memphis.

Re: “"Monetizing Content" at The Commercial Appeal

Peck is good news man he is just caught in the middle of a money grab. The CA punted when they brought in Pepe and let him add Jiranek. You will see Jiraneks name in the story line and the memo. Google Jiranek and see what he did to his former business partners. Once you understand Pepe and Jiranek you will understand why Peck is the pawn stuck compromising his lifes work.
