Re: “Zoo On Ice

This is great, I can't wait either. The zoo is such a high point in our city!

Re: “A New Beginning

Great, Great article!! Please send this to everyone in the UofM Administration! Full of great ideas! Best points: Cover up the empty seats and sell advertising until some sort of downsizing can happen and Celebrate History! It is a travesty that our past accomplishments are not displayed, however few they are.

And can I please propose that the author, Mr. Frank Murtaugh, be added to any committee that will be approving any of the above policy suggestions.

Re: “Afghan Legacy

Great article, but Im wondering why it was written? The issue is not about whether they can build a mosque or not. There are thousands in the US and 100 in New York City alone, and that is ok. The issue is about are we going to let them build a mosque/monument to their victory ON Ground Zero, (this is on ground zero, not "a few blocks away"), where they flew planes into our buildings, killing 3,000 of our fellow Americans (or did we forget already).

Muslims have built grand mosques throughout the world to celebrate their victories over infidels. Do the research.

Thank you for your service Mr. McCusker, and I'm sorry to see you sucked into this irrelevant side argument.

Re: “The NRA Whores

Thats funny. Guns in bars should not be an issue, anyone educated about firearms knows that it is illegal to carry if you have been or will be drinking.

Maybe if you took some kind of hunter's safety course or gun training class you wouldn't be so afraid of guns.

Just remember:

When seconds count, the police are only minutes away.

Re: “Dodging the Bullet

That is true, government is necessary. However, as this event has shown again, with many before including Katrina, that the response time of the Federal Government is less than immediate. It is simply a side effect of their emergency response systems, they take time to set up. Which is why people should be prepared with 3-7 days of supplies, at least water or some way of obtaining it, on hand for when the government is not there. Personal responsibility is always the best option.…

P.S. I guess Im a "flat-earth denier" too, I deny that the earth is flat.

P.P.S Do you think that the "seem to be accelerating" increase of disaster events is a scientific fact or simply a function of humans being able to document, record and communicate events with ever increasing accuracy of technology over the last 150 years? Just an open minded thought.

Re: “Don't Reject. Assimilate!

We should reject any politician who would divide us into labeled groups, it only serves to divide us and weaken our great nation. We are all Americans. Immigration is what made our nation the strongest nation in the world. People are coming here for a reason, and that is to better their lives. We need to make it easier for people to Legally come here, while monitoring the border so we know who is here for the protection of all Americans.…

Re: “Furry Flood Victims Wait for Owners at Humane Society

Studies show that simply thinking about what you would do in an emergency situation can greatly increase your survival ability. Be prepared and plan what you would do if a major event happened that affected all of Memphis and the surrounding areas.

Also, remember to consider your pets in that emergency plan.…
