Re: “Take Me to the PILOT

The age of Momentum!

I'm trying to remember, was there any outrage over FedEx Logistics moving to the former Gibson factory?

Same program. Moving existing jobs, within the same county. Giving cash and a decades worth of tax deferment to a profitable multi-billion dollar multi-national.

But nobody is talking about the local business, lunch counters and such, that go out of business when their clientele are relocated across town.

Nope, this is just more of #jimjim and em, white developers staying rich.

But we can't fix the bus system so poor disenfranchised folks could get to work.

I guess we should just be happy we have clean water.

Why look so far off? Go for a walk on the Greensward, before it too is gone

Re: “Welcome to It City

The aesthetic of South South Main needs to be taken out back and shot. A square block apartment with textured color panels hung on the side, is not exactly architectural design genius.

The city council's recent move too slow play historical protections for the Speedway Terrace and cooper-young districts shows the typical developers first, neighborhoods last mentality of our money grubbing useless elected few.

And please don't kid yourselves. Young lawyers in love really will go to the USSR before they will stay in Memphis and raise children with this abysmal public education system.

The fix is in and it doesn't involve fixing pot holes or problems.

Is there a danger that those reading this abroad will miss the hints of sarcasm?
