Re: “Re-Segregation Claim Apparently Still Alive in School-Merger Case

File your complaint or go there in person.

Be sure to speak of how you are both a Korean and Vietnam War vet who has worked for the post office, the railroads, and Acorn. Also, speak of how you grew up in South Memphis with AC Wharton even though he is from Middle Tennessee and also please make sure to bring up your being a close personal friend of Steve Cohen and that you also gamble along with Rev. Whalum.

Don't leave out anything about your two generations worth of children and the Ivy League as well as IB programs. Add your Harvard educated lawyer pal to the mix and you got yourself one heck of a complaint!

Sign in here with your Facebook page. One out of every eight people have one, I read about that just the other day. Sign in with it and I will personally contact you through mine and give you the means by which to file your complaint in person. PayPal is what I am thinking of with that, is that okay?

Educational Opportunities

The Educational Opportunities Section enforces federal laws that protect students from harassment or discrimination. The Section is responsible for enforcing Title IV of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, and religion in public schools and institutions of higher learning; the Equal Educational Opportunities Act of 1974 which, among other things, requires states and school districts to provide English Language Learner (ELL) students with appropriate services to overcome language barriers; and the Americans with Disabilities Act, which prohibits disability discrimination. The Section also plays a significant role in enforcing Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (prohibiting discrimination on the basis of race, color, and national origin by recipients of federal funds); Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1972 (prohibiting discrimination on the basis of sex by recipients of federal funds); and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (both of which address disability discrimination and appropriate disability-related services).

The Educational Opportunities Section accepts complaints of potential violations:

By e-mail to By telephone at (202) 514-4092 or 1-877-292-3804 (toll-free) By facsimile at (202) 514-8337 By letter to the following address:

U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division 950 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W. Educational Opportunities Section, PHB Washington, D.C. 20530

In order to properly respond to a complaint, the Section requests that complainants provide their name, address, and the name of the school/school district/university where the alleged discrimination occurred.

Re: “The Little Case That Could

Homer: I would just let the OTP crud go. He has claimed to know Steve Cohen personally. He has also claimed to have grown up with AC Wharton even though AC Wharton grew up in a rather nice college town in Middle Tennessee. Now he is claiming that the vast majority of his family tree are educators and the like. He has also claimed to have two generations worth of children as well as a grandchild and they all are either in pursuit of an IB diploma or are ivy league graduates. He has also claimed to be both a Korean and Vietnam Vet who has traveled and/or lived everywhere on God's green earth and who has also worked for both the post office and the railroad.

In other words, Homer, don't feed the troll. OTP always is highly insulting toward you for whatever reason. Maybe the reason is that he knows he can't troll about in regards to any comments area under an article which pertains to something you obviously know about to a greater degree than he ever will.

If anyone is taking it in the neck with this bizarre merger than document your findings and report them to the state. Not OTP, the state. I'm dead serious about that. Rally the troops and go for it. This crap is not a "Memphis Thing" This crap pertains to innocent children and teacher's begging for their pay. What are the children begging for? A frickn' education and fair and decent transportation to school.

Raise heck in Nashville, you guys. Observe and document and then go for it.

Re: “Back to Square One

Why have Jones and Hart not yet held a press conference on the absolutely wonderful job they have done? Where are they? Anyone know?

The munis are a done deal as of the next public school year. Just positively most any place in Tennessee can have one now, give or take.

Children are a protected class of citizens regardless of their race, color, or creed. The public schoolchildren who are to attend school in one of the suburban cities of Shelby County will not be discriminated against by virtue of where their parents chose to live. They won't. There will not be any racketeering made by anyone over the public school buildings. Sorry.

What will happen is that there will be munis here and even in other places in the state. Shelby County will set the standard of civility in any matters pertaining to public school buildings and the like because they are to be first. Our state capitol is in Nashville and not Memphis, I know that is sometimes hard for those in public service in Memphis to comprehend, Nashville will be keeping its eyes on the entire county in which we all live in this regard.

That is it. Everyone just be calm. It will be alright.

Re: “How Low Will ASD School TCAP Scores Be?

" I didn't realize she used to be married to Kevin Huffman, and their (2) daughters actually live with him. It seems Mr. Huffman wasn't to thrilled with the prospect of having them live with Kevin Johnson (her current husband). Evidently, Mr. Johnson was accused of molesting an underage girl and the case was settled out of court."

Holy crap is that ghastly! My gosh.

@homersimpson. Since you are an actual educator, how do you think MCS will be able to handle Common Core?

Re: “Wharton Says Memphis Is No Detroit

@otp. You are to obey my wishes on this matter like an adult or you can ignore me as I am now to ignore you. Alright, kid? Ask your close friend AC Wharton if he can offer you some kind of emotional support during your ever increasingly insane amount of trolling which seemingly hasn't any remote end in sight.

Your opining on this 'berg' is not all that very 'awesome' honey. Read between the lines on that one and never again make mention of my user name in such a disturbing fashion again.
