Re: “City Encourages Whistleblowing

Aw B.S.,
Wharton, while still serving as County mayor spent the last two years of his administration running for City mayor. When he left the County he hired his old cohorts, who were not good for the County, to join his City staff. While laying off lower ranking employees, he hired his chosen few at salaries most of us just dream of having. Although I voted for him at one time, he seems to me now, to be in it only for himself. Another disappointment in a disappointing local government, where it seems people vote for those with name recognition, rather than for those who perform well.

I can assure you that public employees can never speak with any sort of "immunity" when they are calling their "bosses" to task. It was not that way when Wharton was County mayor, it is not that way now. There is a lot of "public speak" of integrity, but it really is just that, form, not substance.

There is a difference between "getting things done" and getting things done properly. I have no reason to believe that the city mayor knows, or cares, about the difference.

For the record, I was in the county, before the city embraced me. Thanks for the streetlights, it helps me avoid the potholes.
