Re: “Wendi Thomas Resigns Her Position at The Commercial Appeal

Ms. Thomas' column started of really well. She wrote about the racial stuff, but she also had the ability to find smaller stories about everyday people trying to make Memphis better. However, her last work about common folk was when she focused on the Rocket Kids at Wooddale High and they are probably 30 by now.

Her columns and the attitude of the paper eventually devolved into a daily LET'S RILE UP THE WHITE FOLKS and her routine became indefensible. Ms. Thomas sold her journalistic soul in order to provoke the yokels.

The Forrest Park Fiasco and her columns behind it turned into a literal promotion for that stupid quasi-Klan episode. Ms. Thomas played Nance Grace to Lacey Earl Tupelo's Casey Anthony. She used the white sheet oafs and the white sheet oafs used her. She gave up all of her integrity to get internet comments. Which is a real shame.

Today's front screaming page rambling mess about James Woods and hate letters to the police chief had nothing to do with news and everything to do with being inflammatory for the sake of being inflammatory. If the Commercial Appeal is going to succeed it's going to have to find a better approach other than simply chasing middle aged white male racists. They are a dying demographic.

Re: “Cohen Demands Hearing on Use of Force by Ferguson Law Enforcement

For the last six years the same bunch of zealots on line have been warning us all repeatedly about Obama! Marxism! Communism! and all sorts of other -isms. Then, finally here comes the Ferguson police, riding down the street in their armored vehicles with the snipers on top, fingers on the triggers of their weapons. And check out the storm troopers with the assault weapons and tear gas!

After six years of trying to warn us bleeding heart liberals you get some real live and heavily armed fascism and oddly, you are all okay with it. Giddy even. Weird.

I wonder how you guys would have reacted if the stormtroopers and snipers had surrounded Penn State when the lads rioted after the firing of the precious and noble Joe Paterno?

Re: “Bunker Will Seek "No Confidence" Vote on Election Administrator Holden

Sith Lords really like this "vote of no confidence" ploy to gain further power don't they?

Re: “Mid-South Fair Looking to Come Back to Memphis, Shelby County

If the fair was "forced" out, who did the forcing and why are we just now hearing about it?

"Forced out".

I guess ya'll got forced to get in bed with the Delta (white people's) Fair guy as well?

Re: “Mid-South Fair Looking to Come Back to Memphis, Shelby County

If I remember, the departure of the Mid South Fair was wraped up in plans that a new fairground infrastructure was going to be built in Tunica and the Desoto thing was all temporary. Those plans involved former County Mayor Jim Rout and never developed.

When Mr. Rout was in office, he was involved in plans to redevelop the no longer existing Baptist Hospital Central into a new "University Hospital" sitting along the shiny new trolly line on Madison. That never developed either.

No one has ever asked or investigated Mr. Rout about his developments that oddly enough never occur.
