Re: “City Will Shift to “Defined Contribution” Pension Plan for Employees, Chief Little Says

So ToughLove and Steve, would you also be willing to run into a burning building and put your life on the line for people you don't even know? Would either of you put your life on the line to protect someone who honestly doesn't deserve at times to be protected? Would either of you by yourself be able to save a life with your skills and knowledge of how to perform that? Would you also be willing to do those same jobs for no Overtime pay even though you work at least 60 hours a week and sometimes more?! And did you also know that you "city taxpayers" have not contributed to the pension fund for over 7 years?! No, you wouldn't know any of that would you?! Because you sit on your almighty pedestal and have the audacity to judge someone for being a sanitation worker?! So if you think they should have "private citizen" pensions then how about some "private citizen"'pay for the job they do. Hey guess what the city would not be able to pay it. But you people will be the first to call for 911 if you feel threatened, if your wife or child is having trouble breathing or a heart attack, if your house or business is on fire. WAKE UP!! Do you "private citizens" really think all these businesses should get out of paying taxes just for coming here? Do you get a tax break for living here? Do you think the employees of International Paper need a 3 million dollar covered walkway paid for by the city, does the city council really need catered lunches on tax payer dollars? Before you guys start running your supposedly "educated" mouths about things you obviously know nothing about, look up a few things and realize the reason the city is where it is is because of pathetic city management, NOT city worker pensions.
