Re: “Tigers 52, South Alabama 35

A win is a win, but it was too close for me. I wish Darrell Henderson had been allowed to get to 200 yards rushing. I hope Jackson Dillon will be okay.

Really was hoping for an undefeated season. But.... oh well.

Re: “Local Warehouse Workers File Complaint for Extreme Heat at Work

I worked for XPO Disney, through Axcess Staffing, they let me go right before I was eligible to become full time because I missed two days out sick, even though I came back with a doctor's excuse.

I also witnessed a man get killed in a SUV on Shelby Drive after a XPO tractor trailer driver pulled out in on coming traffic on a rain slick road at night. XPO Logistics is a bad company.

I tried to sue but Morgan and Morgan wouldn't take my case. They are not for the people!

Re: “Tigers 66, Mercer 14

Lest we think that Memphis is the only FBS team that is expected to be good, to play an FCS opponent in the first game top 25 teams do the same thing. Now bring on Navy!

Re: “New Hotel Could Rise on Blighted Corner

This hotel project should be on a larger scale. A 20 to 25 story hotel that would add to big convention groups coming to the city is needed.

Re: “Memphis (Again) One of the Most Affordable Cities

Memphis is affordable for sure.

But is Memphis desirable.

If you're not born in Memphis or the near surrounding areas, you have to get use to the poverty; the divided ethnic groups (there is only one race, the human race); the lack of forward thinking by political figures (Memphians elect the same old folks, either because of name recognition or some biased allegiance which all equates to backwards thinking); and everyone seems to be afraid of outside growth (meaning if you're not from Memphis or some local small town, you're an outsider who doesn't know how Memphis works).

When will native Memphians allow some outside thinking to help with growing the city and the county and stop building a wall around the area?

A wall may be fine for keeping local basketball and football talent here for the University of Memphis, but it needs to allow young forward thinking people to come in and take advantage of the affordable living here. Then these new residents can pay taxes that will help this city and county stay financially viable.
