Mr. Frey was a teacher of mine at Hutchison as well. Over the last three years however, I have had the fortune to get to know him as a colleague, fellow lover of the arts, and friend as we sang together in the cathedral choir at St. Mary's Episcopal Cathedral. Not only did he sing with the choir in my wedding two years ago, but he was gracious enough to be a reader as well. Leonard was truly an original, an inspiration to anyone who had the privilege of being his student. He loved to teach, and he made his students love to learn from him. I have not even begun the grieving process of this loss yet, but I count myself as blessed that he was such an integral part of my life, and I will be forever grateful for the many gifts he gave me--most of all, a love for learning and educating. Rest in peace, my friend. You will be deeply, deeply missed.
