Re: “Photographer Reflects On Meeting Maya Angelou

Maya Angelou spoke beyond race and gender rights issues, she spoke of the universal human spirit. I was touched to witness her speak locally at Austin Peay University back in 1998 when I was just a senior in high school. This week I was compelled to pay tribute to her with my artwork. You can see my portrait of the author along with some inspiring words of hers at… Drop by and tell me how her life’s work inspired you as well!

Re: “Marriage Equality Rally

Why does the State feel it has the right to continually define marriage? Exactly what is “Traditional” Marriage in Tennessee seeing as even Interracial Marriage is still outlawed by the State Constitution?…

Re: “Disturbance on Ole Miss Campus After Obama Victory

The racism of yesteryear has come full circle in our county. The entire world embraced our choice of a black President four years ago and most nations still support him. The fringe elements of bigotry have crept through into the mainstream once again with conservative mouthpieces planting the seeds of hate. The only doubt lies here at home rooting from bigotry. Watch the white hands paint Obama in Blackface at…

Re: “Alexander Sees Potential for Vice Presidential Debate to Boost GOPTicket

Is there any doubt a Romney administration would favor the rich and increase the income gap in our country? Mitt is a pariah in Mormon Clothing and will stop at nothing to expand an empire of greed for the rich in this country by expanding tax cuts for the 1% of the wealthiest Americans. He’s out to gut the Middle Class for every red cent he can get. Will his sacred Mormon underwear grant him the protection and money to buy this election? See for yourself as Mitt dons his tighty-whities sent down from the Good Lord Himself at…

Re: “Haslam: Not a "Given" He'll Sign Norris Bill But Doubts Veto

This year’s TN legislative session is an embarrassing three-ring circus gaining our state nothing but negative media attention. Our lawmakers should focus on improving the state economy and education instead of intruding on civil liberties and violating students’ rights, gay rights, women’s rights, immigrants’ rights and even monkey rights! Read about how these elected officials are turning our back yard into a testing ground for the most extreme Right-Wing agendas in the entire country at…

Re: “Mr. Vanilla

Our Governor Bill Haslam has pushed his agenda of discrimination throughout his brief tenure in office from shooting down Nashville's anti-discrimination laws to creating the bill banning the use of the word "gay" in public schools. He's railroading civil liberties to the extent of making it illegal to upload a "potentially offensive image" to the internet this year. I addressed our Governor's antics with a visual commentary of him and his wife on my artist's blog at… Drop by and let me know how you feel about our rights being infringed upon.

Re: “Globe-trotter Haslam Phones Home from Kuwait

We're not anxious for him to get home and pass more outlandish laws which violate the Constitution. Haslam passes a slew of laws belittling and overturning aspects of Freedom of Speech in our state but then takes a trip to show his support to our spreading of Democracy. I think Billy Boy is a little confused in his motivations and stance on things. . I was compelled to create a visual commentary in response Governor Haslam’s blatant smothering of Civil Rights in our state on my artist’s blog at… where you can see my new portrait of the Governor and First Lady of TN to defend Freedom of Speech.
