Re: “Cruising on the Shelby Farms Greenline

My kneejerk reaction is that the motorized bikes are too fast and dangerous for the trail. I've ridden it and I'm a little more leisurely than some on the trail. I don't want some group of dumbass kids cruising at 30 mph trying to run each other off the road or pass each other.

If they're led by a guide who sets the speed and keeps them under a limit, it should be fine.

Re: “"Let Me Have the Floor, Baby." Edmund Ford Blows Up.

It's too bad that there are cowards who would rather run away than stay in Memphis and try to make things better. Have fun in Desoto County and NE, losers.

Re: “Black Snake Moan Whimpers Opening Weekend

Again, Craig Brewer is the victim of Hollywood know-nothings who try to construct a theme or vision around a movie that, if taken at face value would be a complete surprise hit that works if left alone. Instead of batting for what they need and want, they bat for the green wall and come up short. Craig Brewer has nothing from me but respect and adoration. It is the Hollywood know-nothings who want him to be accepted as a wunderkind from the get-go who deserve nothing but our derision and rejection. When Brewer's HUSTLE AND FLOW came out, I waited for the dvd release and I've been kicking myself ever since I watched my Netflix copy. What I thought was a movie about pimps what simply a movie about a normal person reaching for the heights and succeeding. I suspect that when I see BLACK SNAKE MOAN in a couple of weeks, having rejected the hype and hysteria of the wannabe's of Hollywood, I will have a cathartic experience that satisfies and inspires. Deriding Americans for not buying Hollywood's hype and desperation for a hot, new product to whore is non-productive. Standby for the real story and excitement.

Re: “Mayoral Race '07: The Dozens and Willie Herenton

The bizarre irony of this is that all someone has to do is call Herenton a "boy" and then the discussion shifts from whether or not Herenton's opponent is a "boy" (lesser a man than Herenton) and whether it is correct to question an opponent's "manhood" and that is a complete loser discussion for Herenton. Our "distinguished" mayor is a bully and a blowhard. One slap from Dorothy's hand to his somewhat cold nose and he'll be asking "what didja have to go and do that for?" like Oz's Lion. Lately, my feelings for the mayoral race and the indeed the presidential primaries (starting WAY to early) are akin to me feelings on potentially watching a bootleg copy of "Bum Fights". Viscerally disgusted but potentially impossible to turn away from.

Re: “BARNSTORMING: Running on Empty

Excellent rundown on why Ford is such a loser. For those looking for a real progressive candidate and wanting to send a message to the Democrats (like I want to) please, if its not too late, vote for Chris Lugo. True, we may not win, but we'll make a dent in the Dems out-republican-the-republicans strategy headed up by Lieberman, Ford, Schumer and Emmanuel.
