Re: “Letters to the Editor

If you people are the examples of who is going to heaven, it is no place I want myself or my daughter to be.

Re: “Letters to the Editor

Dear Obama,

A couple of nights ago I was watching coverage of Woodstock. I was realizing what a pivotal moment in history. Not only for culture purposes and the anti-war political sentiments, but it was a time where a generation stood up and made a statement to the older generation. Then I realized how much in common it was to the moment you were elected and the subsequent celebration in Millennium Park.

I saw the huge disparity in the audiences of your victory celebration and McCain's concession speech. Yours had young, old, black, white, asian, rich, professionals, working class, and students. McCain's audience comprised of mainly white older suburbanites.

It made me think why we elected you. We were and still are tired of seeing our country devoured by Corporate interests. WE ARE TIRED OF BEING OVER- MARKETED TOO. WE ARE SICK OF CORPORATE AMERICA'S LIES. WE ARE DONE WITH BEING JUDGED BY HOW MUCH WE CONSUME. MY GENERATION IS SICK OF BEING "JUST" CONSUMERS.

Our prior generation threw all the best things in life away for material satisfaction, and it didn't make them any happier. We were raised in it, most of us came from broken homes. We saw our parents move frequently and never have much time for family. All to have personal salvation through materialism.

We are tired of ads saying we are not cool enough. That we are too fat, but push us fast food advertisements. Then people wonder why they are unhappy, when all we see every time we open our eyes is a million reasons why what we have is not good enough.

To top it off all of us graduates can't even find jobs in these corporations. They don't want to hire us. They don't want us to make anything, just work in service and consume. They want to make their profits as high as possible regardless of the cost to anyone.

This is why many of the people from my generation voted for you, so don't forget it. You were our last hope for people who to believe that there is one person left in politics that understood us and wasn't selling our vote to corporate America or trying to gain power for themselves.

Right now your polls are dropping and I wanting to take this time to remind you why we elected you. We didn't want to choose between big government and big business. WE CHOOSE US. We are not stopping either, when the moment comes that you forget this and no longer want to carry our flag, there will be someone who will.
