Re: “Quit W(h)ining

i have worked in a retail liquor store for the better part of 5 years. the people who work in these stores devote their time to reading, tasting, studying, understanding, and communicating with their customers a highly educated opinion on the subject of wine.......of wine.....that's it....that is how these tennesseans earn their living, by being there for consumers from the novice drinker to the wine enthusiast and offer assistance and insight on wine. my sister lives in Al and when i go to visit i sometimes buy a bottle from the local Publix (grocery).....i like wine, i know wine, but i haven't had them all.....it's very refreshing to come home and talk shop with the clerks, store managers, and owners that have made wine an everyday part of each of their lives and 9 of 10 times turn me on to something i ordinarily would not buy. i have gotten no such help at these grocery stores. the prices aren't all that much different either....some things are higher, some things are lower, and some are the same. keep the wine in the liquor and wine shops!
