Re: “MATA Ex-CEO Ron Garrison Arrested in TBI Human Trafficking Sting

I think what moverhill is saying is that a john is just a john and that the penalty and the exposure are overkills. A totally defensible argument, since the world's oldest profession has depended for millennia on the world's oldest customer class and will continue to, and stings like this, dressed up as actions against human trafficking, ain't gonna stop it.

Re: “Ted Cruz "Sex Scandal" Rocks the Internet

The fact is, Cruz can only gain from the revelation that there are six women in the world willing to go boogie with him. Who'd a thunk?!

Re: “District City Council Races: Round One

Now, "Raptor," you're being something of a sock puppet.

Re: “An End, Finally, to the Civil War

CHG is sort of right about one thing, which B touched on earlier -- that, while Lincoln did pay lip service to the idea of allowing slavery to remain in the states where it already existed, he was determined to prevent its spread to the territories, especially the warm-weather areas to the immediate west of Texas. Had the 13 slave states which seceded been allowed to keep their Confederacy, there would have been endless wars and conflicts all the way to California. There is no doubt the slavers were expansionist. ( That's what the Missouri Compromise etc. was all about.) The Civil War was, in purely power terms, inevitable. And there's the moral issue, which ain't even close.

Re: “Here's the Judicial Poll That Counts! from the Memphis Bar Association

I'm thinking of organizing a cash prize to reward the person who has the most accurate count of how many multiple personalities are used by one sock-puppet maestro in this thread.

"Thinking of" it, I said. But, face it, I don't have the cash. So let's just do it for fun. How many sock-puppet personalities can you associate with the same source?

Re: “The Eagles at FedExForum

I'm still bummed out by Henley's more or less dropping off the map as a solo artist after "The End of the Innocence." Great album!
