Re: “20 Under 30

kerry emailed me:

Hi Leak One,

Thanks for your comment on the I Love Memphis blog.

Justin gave me permission to paint on the wall, and we tried to pick a spot that was less interruptive. We actually did two sets of photos, some inside Justin's studio and the one outside. The Flyer chose to use the outside shots.

In no way was it either of our intentions to mess up something you'd put so much effort into. It's a damn good mural.

Despite my being from Cordova (I've lived in Midtown for years now), I love seeing the work of artists like yourself in Memphis. Did you do the Where The Wild Things Are-inspired mural on the side of Whatever at Highland and Southern? It's on my scavenger hunt list for the blog, and if it's yours (or you know who did it), I'd like to talk to you about it sometime soon for the story.

Thanks!

Re: “20 Under 30

Well sirs,

Have your wall back, I would never painted the wall if I knew the owner would just eventually deface the mural. There is other murals on the same wall that have been gone over, but that was the first mural there and was untouched until that point.

I apologize for blowing up on Kerry seeing that she didn't deface it.

and to Mr. Burks and the Memphis Flyer, I'm glad you used my graffiti art to give yourselves "urban" appeal, but please go rape another culture.

Thank you, you beautiful people

p.s
Our article by the Memphis Flyer "Tag Team" was retarded and if I knew it would of been edited in the way it was, I would of never done it.

Tag Team was the rap group that did "Whoop there it is"
Nosy's name was never Nosy T. How do you get the name wrong of the person you are interviewing for your cover story in the first place?
and also for the worst quote ever done in an article about graffiti writers = "The drop is treacherous, but he descends with the agility of a mountain goat, then patiently waits for me to catch up. "

p.s.s.

Confronting the article via the internet was the nicer way of expressing how i felt about this situation. If you feel I'm whining, then i will will keep this off the internet. I just figured I could get out what I needed to say, no harm no foul, i did not think you would of preferred the latter.
