Re: “Hold Your Nose and Vote for Mr. Excitement

Bredesen is an idiot. He should follow Trump's lead and double down on his base. Instead he's trying to move as far away from the Democratic party as possible. I don't really know if there are any moderates or undecideds at this point, but he sure as hell isn't going to pick off any Republican voters. And now people that would have donated or volunteered for him are not.

Re: “Welcome to It City

This article needs to be taken out back and shot. First it mentions the vacant, weed-strewn lots & abandoned warehouses, and then decries the fact that new houses are going up in their place? And new, fun establishments catering to a young & creative influx of newcomers that want to live in downtown? And spend their money there! Good grief, no wonder Memphis has been stuck in neutral for so long.

Re: “Mississippi River Park Could Get New Look

ENOUGH with the fahkin' shipping containers already! They look like crap and aren't particularly functional, unless you need to move something on a boat from China.

Re: “Bogard going in Stanley BBQ Space

So in Overton Square we'll now have Restaurant Iris (upscale Southern), Second Line (upscale Southern), Porch & Parlor (presumably upscale Southern), and Bogard (upscale Southern). My kingdom for one decent Thai restaurant...

Re: “Memphis: A Tale of Two Cities

Judging from the other comments, people would have preferred that this remain a dilapidated shell of a building for eternity. Brilliant.

Re: “Memphis: A Tale of Two Cities

This is the stupidest, most angst-ridden article I've ever read. The Concourse is a big improvement in a city that could use it. Just enjoy the progress dude. Developments like this will create jobs and improve the tax base, which will in turn provide more funds to do things like clean up lead soil contamination. A rising tide lifts all boats.
