Re: “Opposition Grows to Mississippi River 'Poopline' Project

At the risk of upsetting folks with science, let's look at why this pipeline is absolutely meaningless to the Mississippi River ecosystem.

The river flows at 4 million gallons per second. The arithmetic tells you that this is roughly 350 billion gallons per day (no,multiplication and division is NOT math, it is arithmetic).

3.5 million diluted by 350 billion is a dilution of 1 part waste water per 100,000 parts of river water.

Furthermore, the biological and mechanical activity of the river will turn this waste into eco-friendly food for fish and flora.

Conversely, sent it to a treatment pond and it will wind up in the aquifer.

By the way, rain-water/storm-water sends far more toxic materials (oils, gas, grease, pesticides, animal waste, garbage, etc.) into the river than this pipeline ever will.

But hey, seriously, far be from me it to inject chemistry, physics, biology and water science into this conversation. By all means, carry on. Knock yourselves out. Sign the petition, residents. Take Hooterville and secede from the union.

Re: “TVA Finds High Arsenic, Lead Levels Near New Wells

Idiots on a witch hunt. God forbid anyone introduce science into the conversation.

But hey Don Quixote charge on, charge on!
