Re: “Arrests Made at Fast-Food Strike

I don't expect anyone to agree with my point of view. But having lived in Seattle for 4 years where the minimum wage for servers and hospitality workers is crazy ($9.45/hr + tips), I saw the resulting lack of customer service. Waiters were horrible...food was expensive...overall poor outcome for the consumer.

I can agree that the workers at McD's could use a small pay raise...but not a 100% increase

I guess I'm just old school. I believe that you need to earn what you get. $15/hr to moves fries from the automated deep frier to the warming lamp does not warrant much income IMHO.

Re: “Arrests Made at Fast-Food Strike

Barf: I agree to a certain extent. It would be nice if the leadership in the McD's corporation would distribute some of that profit to their workers. At the same time, the CEO and other members of management need to be free to run their company the way they see fit. No one has the right to dictate what that corporation does with it's profits. McD's, among other companies, is already trying to figure out how to deal/pay for obamacare.

Mullins: history is a great reference tool. However, I don't think an isolated incident in the Podunk town of Frisco, Co is an appropriate frame of reference for the result on the entire McD's coorporation of they give their entire US work force a 100% pay raise. Seriously...think about it.

Re: “Arrests Made at Fast-Food Strike

Mullins: I'm curious how you think that my comment on working 7 years in the fast food industry is somehow an indication as to my level of intelligence...?

My tax dollars have nothing to do with how much a worked at McD's makes...nor does it have to do with the lavish lifestyles of the CEO's. I agree that no one should live in poverty if they are willing to work...but $15 is excessive. That comes out to roughly $22,000/yr after taxes. A job like McD's is meant to be a temporary environment...unless you want to work up to a management position. McD's offers scholarships and internships for their employees so that they can better themselves, get and education, and EARN THE RIGHT to EARN more than MINIMUM WAGE

If you work at McD's and are unhappy with how much you make, get off your butt, go to school, get an education, learn a vocation, and go GET A BETTER JOB.

Re: “Arrests Made at Fast-Food Strike

$15/hr for fast food workers??! Must be nice living in a self-righteous fantasy land wherein you think that the talentless non-skilled labor of a hamburger assembly technician warrants $15/hr!

Seriously...if that happens, how do you expect the company to survive? I'll tell you..the prices will go up. The dollar menu will become the $5 menu. I for one will no pay that kind of money for a mass produced shit-burger. Mcdonnald a will go out of business...then all these "workers" will be on unemployment.

Idiots.
